Solar Water Heating Tax Credit Information |
| |
- 30% of cost with no maximum
- Costs can include installation
- Solar Water Heater must be installed and ready to use between the dates of January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2016
- For your primary residency, vacation home or rental property, both existing and new construction
- All Energy Star Solar water heaters qualify and must be certified by the Solar Rating and Certification Corp.
- The hot water must be for the dwelling itself, cannot be for a hot tub or swimming pool
- At least half the hot water produced for the dwelling must come from the sun
- Only spending on the solar water heater piping and components can be claimed, not the conventional backup system.
- You must save your receipt
- You will need to file the newer version of IRS Form 5695
