This tax credit expires on December 31, 2010.  Installation costs are not included.
 
 
 
Exterior Window Tax Credit Information
 
  1. 30% tax credit up to $1500 maximum
  2. The window must have a U factor less than or equal to 0.30 or a Solar Gain Coefficient less than or equal to .030
  3. Installation NOT included
  4. Must be installed in your primary residency
  5. Does not include new construction
  6. Must be installed and ready to use between the dates of January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010
  7. You will need to save your receipt for the cost of the windows themselves
  8. You will need a copy of the Manufacturer rating
  9. You will need to file a newer version of IRS Form 5695 with the IRS at tax time
 
Notes:
The U factor is the reciprocal of the R value.  A U factor of .32 is NOT less than a U factor of .30 and would not qualify.
